Mission Statement

  1. Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth.

  2. Practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources.

  3. Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment.

  4. Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

  * At Vanderbilt Sierra Club, the members of the group participate in various ways:

  o The email listserv is the way to keep up with goings on in the group.

  o We have organizational meetings every month. These are open meetings for any who wish to come. At these meetings we plan and announce events, actions, projects etc.

  o The Green Power Initiative is a movement to bring greener energy to Vanderbilt. In the Green Power Proposal, Vanderbilt would purchase a few energy blocks produced by wind or solar power.

  o Earth Day is on April 22nd, and you can count on us being out there celebrating!
